Welcome to Dig In!

Anyone who knows me knows that my life revolves around food. I love to talk about food, travel for food, cook food, eat food and I spend a lot of my free time reading about food. My favorite writing explores the backstories behind a particular ingredient or dish, demonstrating how food serves as an entry point to learn more about the people and culture of a particular place.

So I figured, why not get in the game and start contributing my own stories?

No, I’m not a television food personality. I’m just the daughter of a chocolatier who spent her formative years geeking out over Saveur Magazine rather than reading Teen Beat or Bop, eventually parlaying her obsession with food into a public events job at Eataly.

If, like me, you’ve ever wondered why balls of Edam cheese are available for sale at Mérida International Airport or you’ve wanted to learn more about New York City’s real Little Italy, then this is the Substack for you.

I hope you’ll join me in digging into these and other stories.
